Last week I attended The White House State Leadership Conference in Washington, DC. It was an honor to be invited to join other local and state leaders to hear from President Donald J. Trump’s team on their intent to deliver the President’s promises to the American people.

I was impressed by the team’s genuine desire to hear from us and make meaningful connections, and by their commitment to take quick action with needs we might face. They are a vibrant and talented team dedicated to helping everyday Americans.

As a mom committed to MAGA and MAHA priorities, I especially appreciated the opportunity to speak with Secretary Kennedy of HHS and Secretary McMahon from the Department of Education on issues of impact. I am hopeful their departments will have great success in protecting and enriching the health and lives of our young people and all Americans.

I also greatly enjoyed hearing from Secretary Turner with HUD, Secretary Lutnick with the Department of Commerce, and more.

With about 40 legislators and 10 county commissioners present, there was a good variety of voices in the room. Ottawa County Commissioners Allison Miedema, Joe Moss, and Kendra Wenzel, as well as Ottawa County’s Senator Roger Victory and Representatives Meerman, Outman, Smit, DeBoer, and VanWoerkom attended. You might say Ottawa County is Trump Country!

It was also great to see Representative Matt Hall and others in Michigan House leadership there, as they are digging in to reign in the craziness we have seen from an unchecked Whitmer/Democrat-led government over the past few years. Accountability and transparency is needed, and our Republican House is there to bring it.

I continue to be passionate about being a voice for our people, the truths we stand on, and solid policy positions which enrich the lives of Americans. I am so thankful to serve with these humble and brave individuals who continue to stand in the fire for our communities here.

And perhaps that’s part of the reason why I love Trump and his team— the fire is not easy, and those who knowingly choose it have my deepest respect. If I can in any small way be of help, I am here for it. 🇺🇸
