Hot Rhetoric

As the 2024 election nears, there is once again an escalation in hot rhetoric.

The Democratic Party has long labelled its opponents with frightening, disparaging words. In 2016, we were Hillary’s deplorables. In 2022, Christian conservatives were labeled far-right Christian Nationalist extremists— or any combination of those words. 2024 has only intensified the rhetoric against Christians and conservatives who love their country and their children, and the leaders who represent them.

The Democratic Party mobilizes Democrat activists within government bureaucracy, employs rampant law fare, and coordinates with fake news media to destroy its political opponents. With the incessant attacks of the left and the hot rhetoric of the media, it’s not surprising that President Trump has endured attempts on his life.

Following the assassination attempt on President Trump, when extremism labels became too hypocritically harsh for the fake news media to use against the non-violent right, the media and progressive activists, at least for a short time, began labelling Republicans “weird.” Right on cue, Progressive Lakeshore and local Democrat candidates speaking at GVSU also began employing “weird” to describe their conservative political adversaries.

And yet, the disparaging, threatening language continues.

At the most recent Board of Commissioner’s meeting, the often-angry Democrat leader of Ottawa Objects, David Barnowski, threatened, “We’re going to take you out.”

Another local progressive activist has stated OI aligned commissioners should no longer exist and should be driven from society. A mom who was door knocking for an OI aligned commissioner’s campaign was met at a door with, “You are the devil!”

As Tucker Carlson often reminds us, true leaders do not incite the people of their communities to hate each other.

Perhaps such behavior is not surprising after two years of anti-OI signage and doxing of vocal local conservatives. The Democratic Party has used bureaucratic activists, law fare— as recommended by AG Nessel, and the Democratic Party media arm— including the Washington Post, to stoke fear and anger in our communities against President Trump and the simple everyday Americans in Ottawa County who believe in God and hold to American values.

The last thing the Democratic Party wanted was a Republican county in Michigan with the courage to hold the line against their agenda, especially their agenda for our children. And so the Trump treatment of extreme rhetoric, law fare, and incessant drive-by media hits descended on Ottawa County.

Ottawa Impact is simply made up of everyday parents and citizens who believe God gave parents— not the government, the responsibility to raise their own children. The progressive left believes government—under their control, should raise all children. And that difference is perhaps the hottest point of contention over Ottawa Impact’s influence in our county and our state.

Local races are heating up, including school board and county commissioner races. As the rhetoric escalates against conservatives, and Democrat activists accuse candidates and community members of being “OI”, embrace the label. It means you are simply an American.

I love God, I love America, and I love kids. I believe parents— not the government, are given the natural right by God to raise their children, as affirmed by the Constitutions of the United States and the State of Michigan. And if that makes me weird, deplorable, and a far-right Christian Nationalist extremist, so be it. I won’t stop speaking truth, and I won’t stop defending our freedoms or our families.
